| If you are looking for alternatives to adventure travel or outdoor activities, Bella Coola offers a rich history dating back to pre-contact First Nation's settlement and recent North American and European settlements. The local Nuxalk First Nations have a rich and vibrant history based on river and fish resources of the coastal area. Petroglyphs located near their reservation tell of ancient peoples living in this region and are definitely worth a visit. Visit the Bella Coola Museum to learn more of the past history of the region, including more recent settlement by Norwegian decedents in a fiordland reminiscent of their homelands.
