outdoor activities, Bella Coola offers a rich history dating back
to pre-contact First Nation's settlement and recent North
American and European settlements. The local Nuxalk First
Nations have a rich and vibrant history based on river and fish
resources of the coastal area.
Petroglyphs located near their
reservation tell of ancient peoples living in this region and are
definitely worth a visit.
Visit the Bella Coola Museum to learn more of the past history
of the region, including more recent settlement by Norwegian
decedents in a fiordland reminiscent of their homelands.
Today you can visit the
Sons of Norway Heritage House across
the street from Brockton Place or the
Bella Coola Museum, in
the town of Bella Coola, 16 km west of Hagensborg.

Other activities in the Valley include scenic flights with
Bella
Coola Air or West Coast Helicopters, fishing in the Bella Coola
or Atnarko Rivers, Sightseeing in the Valley, or visiting local
artisan and crafts shops.
